As hundreds of Liberian crowd the Port City of Buchanan, Grand Bassa County in observing of this year World Press Freedom Day, officials of the Liberian Government who found part of the celebration have publicly vent out their anger on the role of the Liberian journalists over the years, as some issued threats on the lives of the Liberian working press.
One of them is the Director of the Executive Protective Service (EPS) Othello Warrick who during his remarks at the indoor program of the celebration openly issued a threatening statement that his organizations, the EPS will not hesitate to go after any Journalist who will intrude the intelligence of the Presidency.
This remarks on the part on the part of the Presidential security boss did not go down well with those journalists attending the program, and called on him to publicly ‘take back’ his utterances; issuing threat against the Liberian media.
Director Warrick who appeared troubled after making the statement told GNN that has no regret making the statement, noting, “I am here to protect the presidency, EPS will not hesitate to go after any journalist who will intrude the intelligence of the presidency,” he stressed
