GNN Liberia is operated by a Liberian journalist Mr. J. Cholo Brooks, who previously worked for the BBC African Service for over a decade, and publishes one of Liberia 's  Weeklies, The Labor Times and The Star Newspapers.

Mr. Brooks is also a regular contributor to dozens of websites around the world, and is a full member of the Press Union of Liberia (PUL) since 1983. He is opting for the Press Union of Liberia (PUL) 2013 Presidency.

He is one of the contact persons for the Committee to Protect Journalists, a U.S. based rights group, and is also a member of a US based Concerned Committee of Journalists.
